You won't hear anything.

You won't be told anything.

No one will ring you back after leaving a message.

The only time you will ever hear anything is if they write or call and tell you themselves.

Everything else you see on here is just BS from folk who have nothing better to do than gossip.

People even post that they are sick of waiting and have started a new job, GTR can stick it etc, etc, etc. You are in a pool, one of potentially hundreds, and may be plucked as and when places become available.

Get on with your lives. Do stuff. Live a bit. Work, live, laugh, have fun . . . . . anything other than repeatedly asking "anyone heard anything yet"! There's 129 pages of folk incessantly asking if they have heard anything and still people don't learn.

You will be told. Only you will be told and no one else will be offered a place but you, as and when you are chosen.

He's spot on though, just because you are in a pool doesn't mean they owe you anything.
When and if they need you they will tell you it's as simple as that.

I actually happen to agree with him. But you can't blame these guys for asking, it must be difficult to have been waiting as long as they have. These forums are a great source of information, and yes gossip too, but so what if people always ask "have you heard anything?".

Not a lot of news on the recruitment front from inside, I'm afraid. I think there was mention of KGX and BFR (1 course each) before the end of the year. The rest, I guess, is Three Bridges / Bedford. There is no chance at all of Peterborough.

Do lots of internals transfer to Peterborough?

The transfer list has two parts. For Peterborough there are about 9 qualified drivers, and about 21 trainee drivers or drivers who are within their first two years.

So about 30 altogether.
A qualified driver can leapfrog someone who is within their first two years. After your first two years, you get put on the qualified list.


I think there's 66 drivers based at Peterborough at the moment.

Not that I'm aware of but there are some people who have been in it for over a year, GTR have said everyone will be offered a position eventually. I asked that question in my interview and got a positive answer.

Just to clear things up a bit - the qualified drivers I was referring to are ones who have already been with the company at their original depot for two years.

Anyone who joined the company as a Qualified Driver, would, I believe, have to also do two years at their original depot first before transferring.
