Yeah i agree with you bobbybox that the lack of trainers is probably what is causing delays
Clare before she left I contacted her and she said with GTR they wouldnt put you in the trainee driver pool if they were not going to place you.
In addition they made many of us go through the medical process, so hopefully we are all getting closer to that long awaited call up giving us a start date.

Whilst Ive been one of the biggest cynic's on here and am a glass half empty kind of guy, even I find this hard to believe.
Bedford for example have hardly had any courses so far, and Thameslink is often way under staffed / lack of trains available.
Bucko I agree there doesn't appear to have been many courses for Bedford which leads me to believe there should be some early 2016...I've seen the stats for GTR's performance and everything points towards needing more drivers sooner rather than later.
From this info I might have to speak to a current trainee friend to see what info he has....

That will be absolutely abysmal. The least we could do is have it written down - I could have stayed in my job for upwards of another 8 months without the threat of the 3 month notice period jeopardising my career and such. I am genuinely so appalled. Cannot even put into words how this feels for me and my friends who are stuck in the Pool.

It depends who you listen too - A friend of mine has told me there will be a Bedford class in February. It's definitely a long waiting game though, just need to take everything with a pinch of salt - once the facilities and personnel become available I'm sure classes will start.
I'm sure we would all like further information relating to expected class dates and I often think to myself an update every 6 weeks or so would be a nice touch but to be fair I wasn't told anything when I waited 16-18 months in Sydney and there are guys from the Oct 2012 recruitment still hoping for classes in March!!
Been following this thread for a while. I'm also waiting for start date for Three Bridges - had my medical in October, so around the same time as a few others.
A friend works in the same office as GTR HR, so is going to do some asking around today for us. I understand there's a lot of us, but a reply to an email shouldn't be to much to ask? I've emailed 3 different people asking a very simple question, and not had a single reply!

I spoke to Lisa in the HR department yesterday and was told they dont have any further courses "yet" but they were working tirelessly to arange more for the new year. I was alos told to call back if i hadnt heard anything in a few weeks which leads me to believe an email will be sent out with some form of update (or just wishful thinking).
I should also hear from a current trainee today with an update if hes managed to get one.

I was told exactly the same thing yesterday by a reliable source.
There seems to be a lot of mixed messages and information regarding courses, a couple weeks back I thought it was pretty much confirmed from a few people on here that there were courses starting in January for the following 3/4 months and a few people on here had heard that from reliable sources?
Now HR have said no courses confirmed yet, just seems no-one really knows what's going on, feels like being in limbo at the moment.
I know Railway HR is generally slow, it's the not knowing which is frustrating, I've had a Holiday for October 2016 booked since Dec 14 which is before I even applied for this recruitment in April this year, I don't know if I'm able to go on this now if I don't start soon ish, tried emailing but no reply.
Just hope we get some kind of update or dates soon.

106 people in training, as they pass through more courses will be able to be conducted. It's going to be difficult for them to know exactly when new ones will start, I was told up to 12 months to get everyone in the talent pool started. GTR are busy and taking on more trainees than ever before, that's got to be a challenge which has not been done before.

Dont suppose you have a contact number for Lisa? I have two from a re-directed email, but are both 0209 and deal lines....
