Welcome to The Great Ivo Train Quiz! 25 questions about all kinds of aspects of the British railway system, ranging from York to Yerkes and from 125 to 1995, all designed to really get those brain cells working. Does question 21 mean certifield to run on the National Network or in existence in this country? Are we to include non-operational examples (eg for the purposes of the question, are there30 odd class 60s or 100?)

Smallest Class in existence that has at least one unit in revenue TOC service. So anyone who intends to answer "121" needs to think again because most of those are still around even though only a couple ever see the light of day. In essence, all units count towards the Class's total irrespective of whether they are certified to run or not, so long as at least one of them is in use by a TOC.

Might be missing some, but I reckon it's only 180, 220, 221, 222, 373, 390 & 395. So 7.

Class 139 (Parry People Mover) with 2?

22. And what is the second smallest?

Class 322 with 5?

24. What would a double-yellow signal suggest?

If anyone queries any of these, I will be happy to discuss them. I will allow me123 to have Q20, because it could be argued that the 373 does count even though it does strictly speaking have power cars (I guess the difference between it and HSTs is that the 373 power cars are part of one set with the coaches, which obviously isn't true with HSTs). I have also allowed IanPT's answer of "preliminary caution" for Q24.

Hey! I posted up answers to about two thirds of these yesterday but my post's missing. WTF happened?? It seems I got all the ones I put up right, even adding a comedy extra London in the shape of Londonderry, and got all the *real* three letter stations except the IBM red herring.

I can honestly believe that. What probably happened is that your session probably timed-out and you had to log in again, which if using Quick Reply messes up.
