Hey,

Well, today has been an odd sort of day.
Last week I received news from my grandparents that they would not be returning from Wales until today, thus I would miss today's section of the tour that I had planned to go see.
However, they came back yesterday, and wanted to take me to see it today....abliet not as far as we had originally planned.

And so, I went to Perth to see the K4 waiting for the tour to arrive, and the A4 to bring it in. I left as soon as that happenned to travel north to Dunkeld to see it go past.

Here's some of the stats of the tour:

A4 No. 60009 "Union Of South Africa" handled the railtour solely from Glasgow to Perth, and I have heard it did it very well. However, it arrived in the station 4 mintues down as it was stopped at a signal check just 800 yards from the platform.
I was a mile North of Dunkeld, when I was notified by another photographer that the railtour left Perth 30 minutes down, due to steam pressure being low on one of the locomotives, and so the water stop was increased at Perth. Although I was not told which locomotive it was, I suspect it was the K4. However, they passed me and many other photographers ( 31 Cars Parkled Where We Were!!!!! ), 60 Minutes Down but with a great performance:

I'll upload the videos we took later on youtube once my Grandpa sends me them. I coaxed him into letting me use his video camera at Dunkeld on my tripod as his video camera is ubsolutely superb.
I am not sure if I will manage to see any more of the tour until Saturday, which again will the be with the A4 and K4....but I do hope to see the 8F on Monday when it returns South.

Please leave any comments. And I'll update the thread if I manage to see it any other days, plus when I have the videos.

Thanks

Jonathon
