For the last couple of Control Periods the have been several major projects being run concurrently by NR. There does however seem to be a dearth of new projects starting up in the new Control Period and not all of this can be put down to HS2 and its temporary suspension. As projects are completed there seems to be very little coming on stream to replace them. Is there a pipeline of projects due to start soon or are we facing a leaner period when it comes to major projects and upgrades in general?

Enhancements are no only approved on an individual basis so whilst there is a pipeline, nonschemes have yet made it to final DafT / Treasury approval

Enhancements have got rather vague because NR kept missing targets and over running costs. Politicians and the DaFT hate getting embarrassed - so that has to be one reason.

Yes keep hearing about Northern's woes over infrastructure improvements not being delivered but am a bit unclear if they are ever going to be delivered. At least Pacer replacement is definitely coming....
