Been looking forward to this since it was announced.. D213 and D345 worked the Devon Double from preston to Plymouth on the 30th October 2021. The train was formed of Mk 3s in Inter City livery so to heat and power the coaches 47828 was on the rear.
There was a worry the train would not reach Plymouth as, after arriving at Bristol Temple Meads on time, flooding was reported at Flax Bourton so the tour stood for an hour or so. An anxious time waiting at my first location went on and on until I saw that a DMU had been sent through. Then the 40s moved so that was a big relief.
The train is seen at Fly Arch Bridge near South Brent and Totnes Station.
