Surely the abbreviation for 'High Street' is 'H St' or 'HSt'

High School is HS, High is H on OS maps

I'm not sure it matters. LO is very much a local railway for local people, and as it runs all stations I doubt anyone looks at the list of stops any more than they do on Merseyrail.

The new Scotrail timetable has also brought with it additional information on the display screens at stations.

Now you get "a Scotrail train formed of 4 carriages" PLUS "this train departed<insert previous station name> on time at 08:18"

Handy to see for everyone instead of faffing about on apps.

Brilliant band though. Everyone should see them live at least once.

The imagery in the song concerned ("National S***e Day") is fantastic. If you're at all familiar with Liverpool city centre and Lime St (particularly in its rather scruffier 1990s state than its present state) you can make a decent video for it in your head.

The names of stations in certain systems/contexts is limited to 16 characters, whether we like it or not.

The name changes seem to have come with installation of Atos's customer information system, and this seems to have its own versions of many of the names, and a very 80's length limit. The industry's IDMS service is the best source of public-facing names, and calls SDC "Shoreditch High Street". It seems odd that they wouldn't use this source.

The Northern PIS's grammar and formatting really frustrated me last time I traveled on one of their trains.

We will shortly be arriving at Wigan Nth Wstn , if you are leaving the train here mind the gap between the train and platform edge *** please retain all tickets as they may be needed to exit the station

It just makes them look like amateurs.

Here is a grammatically improved version:

I don't like the new Greater Anglia PIS systems, they seem to be being used to hide delays, some stations have the Infotec screens and the new ones and lets just say the Infotec one seems to be more open about showing delays and the extent of delays than the new ones do that seem to underestimate them.
