Anyone else been watching this fascinating series over the last few weeks ?

It had a slight "rail slant" the other week when a bridge was being replaced.

These cranes are certainly "big boys toys":p

Since the inception of the programme I have been looking out for Ainscough Cranes on the roads and have seen plenty in Scotland.

Some of them are earning megabucks (with overtime) as well !! - clearing 80 or ninety grand per year

Not watched it but you have to have a screw loose to go up in those things and is something I could never do

The sequence in episode one recovering derailed tank wagons was also fascinating.

The drivers do earn their money with the long unsocial hours roughing it in all parts of the country with a considerable amount of skill involved. You wouldn't want to topple one of those things.

It seems a very rough outdoors job - a bit like an oil rig worker ? No accommodation and very little privacy and lots of time away from home. They deserve their money.
