I have come across a company called 'Railtrail' who organise rail based holidays in the UK, Europe and Worldwide.

I was amused to read their 'Spectacular Scotland at Christmas' itinerary includes a trip from Inverness to Stirling on what they describe as 'The Cairngorm(s) Line' which of course to anyone with even minimal railway knowledge is the Highland Main Line which might reasonably be abbreviated to The Highland Line. This trip also covers both the West Highland Line and the Kyle Line and both are correctly named so quite why they had to invent a new name for The Highland line is a mystery to me.

Has anyone else come across 'The Cairngorm Line' name (not to be confused with the Cairngorm Mountain Railway/Cairngorm Funicular)?

Also on this tour it seems bizarre the group meets at Stirling for the first overnight stay and they will include a ticket from your local station to Stirling (at a price) but the very next morning they have 'an early start' to travel to Glasgow for their West Highland trip which, given they do acknowledge limited daylight hours and on arrival in Fort William they take a trip out to travel on the Nevis Gondola, must mean they travel on the 08.21 from Queen St. Surely it would make more sense to spend the first night in one of the many hotels in Glasgow within easy reach of Queen St station rather than rise at silly o'clock to have breakfast and then be ready to leave the hotel around 07.00 to travel in from Stirling?

Nope! When I saw the tread title my initial thoughts were that you were referring to the funicular and that you'd posted in the wrong section! It has always been the Highland Line or Highland Main line as far as I'm concerned.
