If it came to Electrostar ie 377s vs Desiros ie 450s, which would anyone prefer?

Gosh, Desiros by a long way! They are far more refined (when setting off, they're so quiet you sometimes don't notice you're moving), the doors don't rattle when you pass another train at speed, in my opinion they're more comfortable, they don't have a stupid, wasteful tapering body profile like the Electrostars, the list goes on and on for me. And, comparing the latest batches of each, they worked straight 'out of the box', very much unlike the 377/5s.

No contest!

EDIT: I forgot to mention the frankly pathetic attempt at first class on most 377s...

Electrostars by a very long way. They feel much more 'solid', there's enough air movement inside that you don't gasp for breath all the time and the seats are more comfortable.

Still, I have to ask this. Would you rather sit in an Electrostar for forty minutes or a CIG for an hour?

[RANT] TBH - The results will show the best current TOC - the fact that GNER was put on the list is irrelevant to the Current TOC Results (as we could just ignore it.). If it was only single choice then maybe it would but this is multiple choice. [/RANT]

That's why I voted for GNER and Chiltern. The latter is the best current, and the former the best ever.
All in my opinion, of course.

I don't hardly travel on Desiros or Electrostars as my usual traction is formed of either:

HSTs, 91 + Mk4s, 313s, 317s, 365s and 321s.

Best for me would be Wrexham and Shropshire, with Chiltern and Virgin coming in 2nd and 3rd. I'm quite fond of London Midland and Northern as well.

Worst would probably be Crosscountry and EMT.

On the Electrostar v Desiro debate, I much prefer travelling on Desiros, they offer a far better journey quality.

I voted other for the old GWT, purely because of the way that they redesigned the HST livery into a Great Western style so effectively.
