After a long break I finally found some time to edit some more photos of my trip in july. This time I'll show you some photos of Montenegro and Serbia.

In the morning, we photographed the sleepers from Serbia, arriving in Sutomore:

The only service train to Beograd at daylight is stopping in Sutomore:

One of the stoppers came by:

The next sleeper is arriving in Sutomore:

We went to Vraninja, where the railway is crossing this lake:

In the evening we photographed the sleepers as well, now on their way to Serbia:

On the next day we took the first train up to the mountains:

Unfortunately we had only one freight train that day, so we spent the whole day there for just a handful trains:

At least a butterfly came by to entertain us:

Back on the train to Sutomore. We are waiting for the signal down to Podgorica:

The first sleeper to Serbia came in the last light:

On the next day, we left Sutomore and went to Uzice (Serbia):

At the station, some kind of a charter train came by:

The final part of this trip should be online during the next days.

But there are many more photos waiting for me to edit them that were made during the last few weeks...

Keep 'em coming!

Surprising how there are people wandering across the tracks near the stations - total contrast to the UK.

Lovely photos!

Did you actually go to Belgrade itself?

I passed through there many years ago when it was Yugoslavia and it was one of the most beautiful cities in the world but I would imagine its scarred after the conflict in Serbia.

I am planning a your around Europe myself for 2009 and judging by your pics, its going to be a hoot :)

@Dennis: A track on the Bakans is not more than a footpath - you can wander around whereever you want. It is even the safest choice to walk on the tracks in specific areas as you may find a mine otherwise...

@Tom C: Some pictures of Belgrad will be in the next part, we spent several hours there.
There is nearly nothing that remembers to the conflict, but it is much easier down there if you have somebody who speaks their language.
