Anyone watching this years The Apprentice?

I have just watched Series 1 of The Apprentice on You Tube over the last few days and was suprised to be reminded of how some aspects of the programme have changed.

The most noticeable thing is the absence of swearing these days compared to regular effing and blinding (not bleeped) in the original.

Also you see contestants smoking which seems to have disappeared, perhaps they are all non-smokers today.

Also I had forgotten Sara Khan or whatever her name is the runner up now co-presents that Money Saving Programme with Martin Lewis on ITV Friday Nights. (she was one of the worst offenders in the effing stakes !!!)

I tried to start watching it, then work got in the way. How long is left now? I might try and pick up the last few episodes; I've got a rough idea about who the candidates are.

Bring back the swearing drinking and smoking let's liven it up a bit

Doesn't Sir Alan now need the show more than it needs him? He isn't quite the big shot that he once was, and as with any show (e.g. Big Brother) ever new series sees more people that are trying to play the system, as well as the producers likely wanting to make it more controversial or entertaining (by getting in idiots).

It seems the show is becoming a parody of itself.

I think this episode's task was pointless. I agree with Luisa (annoying accent woman) that corporate buzzwords and so-called away days are stupid. I would have fired Sugar for setting such a stupid task.

I don't care if she was on the winning team, but I wanted the irish woman (whose name escapes me) to be fired. Now I have no problems with the Irish, but there is a certain quality to her voice that I find really annoying and her personality is absolutely diabolical and rude.

I did like Jason's reply to Lord Sugar's comment in the boardroom where he says you're a nice chap, to which he replies, "thank you, you are very kind."

Both sets of 'high achievers' were equally clueless! So much so that I began to suspect that it was the task itself that was to blame!

I think that this is inevitably with many types of TV programme, but it is pretty obvious with these types of shows which seem to have a natural shelf life, after which they do appear to grow stale, repetitive and, yes, a bit of a parody.

I also agree with this (see above). I'm not sure what the point was. Such events are vacuous wastes of money at best. Despite what was said, they are seen and treated a s ajolly by almost all who attend.

In fairness I was quite surprised to see Rebecca go; I honestly though Francesca had it and at one point I thought Lord Sugar was going to deck Luisa, as she is one hell of an opinionated girl!!

Well for a supposedly "completely useless" candidate he must have been either remarkably lucky or a bit better than we assume him to be, given that he went 5 weeks unbeaten until last week...

The panel on You're Fired after the Dubai task spent an awful lot of time deliberating on the contribution of Miles to his teams - that's the same guy who is now the only unbeaten candidate...

Don't forget that the programme is very heavily edited, most probably with a view to create characters and highlight particular traits.

Jason wasn't useless this week!
I thought how Lord Sugar brought him back to congratulate him was great.

I imagine that he is the project manager next week after watching the clip after the show.

I came on here to check the thread before I watched the episode this morning - once I was informed of a double firing I had strong intuition, more or less as soon as the programme started, that Kurt and Alex would be back in the boardroom. Jason was great, I loved the look on his face when he got called back!

Kurt hasn't exactly covered himself in glory for a few weeks, and Natalie was a firing just waiting to happen, so it wasn;t too surprising really.

I must disagree with Mr Butts though, I think that weird looking Cardiff bloke is a good contender and didn't deserve to be fired this week!
