It appears that the winners of the tasks this eyar have mainly done it by defualt. Many of their ideas and concept shave been dismal, awful, embarrassin gor all three, and it is only because the other team's efforts have been even worse have they been successful.

If I was Alan Sugar, I'd keep my money. From the evidence so far, he won't get a return on his investment!

Agreed, the standard of candidates are low this year. Though I do not believe Sugar was right to fire Glenn in this episode, I am not sad to see him go!

Suzy (?) has often had the right ideas but has been squashed by others. This might be a fatal flaw, but if she shows the spirit she summoned up in the boardroom lat night, she could be a contender.

Nick Hewer saved Suzy's backside in last night's episode. His support gave her the confidence to nail the other two pillocks in the boardroom and she seized the opportunity with both hands. If she takes that into the tasks then she could indeed become a contender...but I'm not sure it will happen!

I would agree, she is now definitely a contender. Sugar is always interested in young talent. As Nick said, Sugar has given her the opportunity to show her potential, she now has to grasp it.

Also, do the candidates develop selective memory or hearing when in the boardroom? Time and time again candidates flatly deny something yet what they are denying is there on camera for all to see and hear.:roll:

Sadly, LS doesn't see the footage of the task, he makes his decision solely on what the candidates and Nick and Karen say. Perhaps if he did, Jim would have been fired long ago!

Helen seems the the most able among a poor bunch but Lord Shugg prefers his apprentices even younger.

I just thought of an idea for the apprentice as one of the challenges:

Charter Trains

I have no idea if this could work at all but the idea I have is that the two teams (or final two even) would have to organise a special charter train to anywhere in the country. The team who makes the largest profit (or smallest loss ) wins. Money would involve hiring the loco and stock, track usage, and if they're offering meals. The place they go to will affect it a lot - S&C is going to get a lot more customers than a train going to Southend or something (it's only a comparison - I'm not trying to out a place down)

Seems like a good idea, I know that there was a task simmilar to this in the previous series, contestants had to organise a tourist bus charter. I don't see any reason why they could not do the same for trains.

Because paths need to be planned months in advance of them running, and cost a lot of money, which would not be suitable for a short 3-day task where it is done from scratch. You need stock, drivers, guards and stewards all of which need to know where they are going long before the actual date, and in the case of drivers and guards, need to sign the routes. Locos and coaching stock need to be cleared down routes. Passengers also book far in advance.

In short, it's not suitable for a program that requires relatively easy short tasks.

Well, Leon is the next candidate to bite the dust. Melody really came to the fore this week as someone who is really annoying this week, hearing what she wants to here, and doing what she wants, despite not being the project manager. But if Sugar wants to run a business with someone like that, who am I to stop him?

Melody is not perfect, but at least she got stuck in and di some work, unlike some of the others.

Helen appeared to be quite good again this week.

Jim does make me laugh - he could talk himself out of a room with no exit. Helen looks like the quiet one whom no-one suspects, Tom looks useless, and I cannot stand Melody, or, worst of all, Suzie. Natasha I think will go next. Any that have been unmentioned I have no opinion on, or have forgot

Well I agree with you about Melody, but i'm still not sure about Suzie.

Melody did seem annoying this week, but to be absolutely fair, as Karen said, she did bring home the bacon and knew how to do business!

Suzie seemed a little brainless this week, I am not keen...

Helen is probably a strong contender now.

Her big problem seems to be lacking confidence to assert herself. She can do it in the boardroom, but on the tasks she does seem rather quiet at times. Even as a project manager...

Leon sent himself home this week, far too passive and basically used an excuse that he couldn't speak French for the whole task. Well, the others except Melody couldn't really either (Zoe made me laugh, not even attempting a little French when asking people questions on the street - you don't do that in France!)

Leon admitted he was nowhere on this week's task, to his credit. I think Suzie is far too conscious of her age, but she is also very immature in many ways, as shown by the fact that she did not have a grasp of the sales figures on the beauty task, despite it being her own field.

Melody was incredibly irritating this week and I am also sure she was changing what the French people said in the shopping centre to twist it to how she wanted it to be, taking advantage of the fact that Leon hadn't a clue what she was saying. Also wasn't a team player and although she was good in a business sense, it isn't really the kind of behaviour I would want to encourage. She also has selective hearing and does not detect sarcasm either :P Credit where it is due though, she probably was on the forefront in being able to speak the lingo...they usually put subtitles up when they are making a complete hash of it...not with her though!

Suzi makes some very random remarks at times and constantly tries to use her age as a cover up...can only work for so long though, I think. That said, on this taskshe did do a good job of upselling at the phone shop.

Helen is a dark horse and to my knowledge has not yet lost. She made her mark on this task with the selling she did. Will be interesting to see what happens when she finally ends up in the boardroom - I'm not sure he will have much to hold against her really.

I still quite like Tom but I'm not sure he will get much further in this process unfortunately, although I think Lord Sugar does see something in him.

Jim we haven't seen much of for the past couple of weeks but I think his card has been marked and the Lord will be watching him like a hawk, no doubt

Natasha - can't say I've ever seen much from her to be honest and don't think she will last

Zoe has potential but possibly not in this competition

Only 4 weeks left now I think so could be interesting. Of course, he is looking for something a bit different this time so could be a different outcome to what has been previously.

I think a lot of women between 15 and 35 talk in high pitched squealy voices these days. I presume it is trendy.

Sadly most women never learn the art of arguing properly; all they do is shout louder and louder at each other until the one who hasn't been reduced to tears is assumed to be the winner.

When Sugar said at least one of them was going, I half expected another double firing! And let's face it, all three of those in the boardroom could have gone. I really think these are the worst ever bunch of contestants!
