66086 ran 1Z92 to Eastleigh with the remaining coaches. The derailed coaches and front shed remained at soton

thanks for this. I noticed that work had been carried out at Marchwood such as reballasting which would seem to indicate that the branch is not immediate danger of complete closure

Also thanks for being able to view the signal box, now sited in the station building. What a joy to see good old fashioned levers and a token instrument

re the branch closing, what about the marchwood military base, dont they have trains come and go now and again

Marchwood still has MOD trains, but the section beyond to Fawley is currently not required.

Basically defective track (wide of gauge and sleepers rotted) not dealt with, as a result of shortage of suitably qualified staff and repeated deferral of repairs to deal with reported defects.

It's good that they've sorted the issues, though it was surprising to see how many incidents of this type there have been.

i think theyve since added the return timings but it jumps from bournemouth to worthing missing out timings along the way not that you couldnt work them out
