Of course this is extremely sad. I’ve watched them take off many times when holidaying in the Alps. If any sport comes with a death wish, it’s Wingsuit Flying.

A few years ago a pal of mine died while scrambling in Eryri/Snowdonia. He was an experienced mountaineer - qualified as a an instructor who could train and assess mountain leaders. Plenty of UK and international experience climbing, walking, scrambling. It was obviously very sad to find out he'd passed, but at the end of the day, he went out doing something he enjoyed and was passionate about, and he did his best.
I feel the same with the The Boy Who Can Fly, he had 4,000 jumps under his belt and was himself a skydiving instructor, clearly knew his stuff. Eventually with extreme sports there's a level of risk which can only be avoided by simply not doing it at all. If I went out this way, I would be content, and I would hope my family and friends would be too. Godspeed, Liam.

It should be Noted that her grandpa wasn't a normal Nazi. The Soviet Union labelled him “the worst enemy of the Ukrainian people” and issued a 50,000-rouble reward — about £200,000. For his capture. Dead or alive (preferably dead)
What happened to him thereafter remains unknown (but it's pretty safe to say that he was presumably shot on the spot By Red Army forces. He's lucky that his family wasn't there or they would have been shot as well)

TBH, nothing surprises me at the moment in the US. Government backed armed privateers carrying out arrests and detention of citizens seems to be a thing there at the moment.

Its not really that difficult, particularly if the car was an automatic.
If it was an automatic it would be pretty easy: press the go pedal and it goes. Slightly more difficult if it was manual.

Roald Dahl taught one of his daughters to drive at the age of 11. Considering how my 9 year old grandson operates the games console handsets, as long as they can reach the controls driving a car would be child’s play (see what I did there).
Many times whilst walking in Austria I’ve seen young children driving off road around alpine farms.

Private Eye's "Nooks & Corners" column reports that Bath's art-deco style fire station is under threat, as Avon Fire & Rescue wants to demolish it and build a replacement on the site. It reports that the Twentieth Century Society is campaigning against the demolition, and has applied to get the building listed.
Presumably this will be one case where a building being considered for listing against its owner's wishes won't be likely to "go on fire" of its own accord?

Police said there were no injuries in the incident at the Lidl store on Roman Road in Taunton.

A supermarket has been closed after a car crashed through a window at the front of the store.
The silver hatchback crushed bollards separating the car park and the Lidl store on Taunton's Roman Road, before breaking the windows.
Avon and Somerset Police said there had been no injuries or arrests, describing it as a "one-person road traffic accident".
The store is expected to remain closed until a structural engineer can assess the damage. Lidl and police have been contacted for further comment.
In a statement, Lidl said: "We can confirm that emergency services were alerted to an incident involving a car at our Taunton store this morning.
"Thankfully, no one in the store was injured. The store is currently closed with a view to reopening as soon as possible, once measures have been implemented to secure the store and ensure customer and colleague safety."
The vehicle has since been removed from the store.

This story is quite interesting with a bit of a rail related twist!
Must have been a bit of a shock for the station staff to find a bag containing £20k in cash and then for the mastermind to be travelling to London...presumably in First Class of course...completely unaware of the fact that BTP would be waiting for his arrival at the other end!
(Not quite sure he was the brightest tool in the box at concealing his operations with a £91,000 Jaguar just casually parked up in his driveway mind!)
