the 6 month rule

hi
i have applied as a trainee depot driver with a toc. i got as far
as the struc interview then failed to pass that..

my question is can i apply to a different toc as a trainee driver before the
6months is up or do i have to wait 6 months regardless of any toc

It's my understanding that you won't be able to be retested in the six months following a fail (or even pass it would seem from my experience) and every job I've looked at asks the question have you failed the assessment within the last six months? Answering yes to that would probably be the end of the application I would have thought.

Basically apply: yes, take assessments no. So given the time it takes to process applications, as you approach the end of the 6 month period you can certainly start sticking them in again. I had failed my CBI with one TOC and applied to another about 4 or 5 months later. I received a call a few weeks later saying they wanted me to do the aptitudes, but I'd have to wait a couple more weeks. I ended up doing the tests for the second time 6 months to the day after the first attempt and I am now waiting for an interview with the management team. So go ahead. the worst that can happen is they say you are too early whereas if you don't apply you may miss an opportunity...
