December has come....and like most heritage railways in the UK, the Bo'ness Santa Specials started again this weekend. And as per usual, I went along for a few photographs....and as per usual, lighting was not great. This time of the year can help acheive great, atmospheric photos. Yet, unless the perfect situations occur.....you end up with a lot of photos like this:
However, as shown above....I realised that Black and White photos really triumph where colour photographs with bad lighting would fail.
It was a trying day to say the least. The one spot I had planned from the start to take photographs at.....had a Blue Addacabin in the way!!!! Not exactly what I was hoping for, and along with the bad lighting and cold weather.....and that the trains were top and tailed because of a points failure at Birkhill ( which meant D5010 or D8010 at the back of the trains )....made nothing go to plan. yet, a few good shots did come out of the day, but I will return before the end of the year for a few more : http://jonathonag.fotopic.net/c1418032.html
Anybody else got shots of Santa Specials in the UK they want to share. I'll admit, they are not the best to photograph ( as kids could easily get in the way ).....but if planned through correctly...some nice shots to bed had!
Thanks
Jonathon
