Walking along Priory Queensway at 0600 on Wednesday passed the Wesleyan building when a dark blue decker roared past and stopped at the stand used by the 16 and 16A. I did a double take and saw it was a Thandi bus which looked like an Olympian. Registration looked like THZ3390 but photos of the registration suggest a red single deck Volvo B10M.
It took me by surprise, but I assume it was not operating as a public service vehicle as such

Was it definitely THZ3390 and not THZ3386?

This list has the following entry - https://wmbusphotos.com/Evergreen/fleetlist.html

Found a Flickr link to a photo of Volvo Olympian THZ 3390 (below), so the registration has been put onto an Olympian.

The DVLA website states it was first registered in October 1999 and first with the DVLA in the UK in November 2014. By a process of elimination this makes it RV599, originally 99-D-599, later registered V179 KAG and TIW 113 with Sharpe's, Nottingham (whose livery it is in) and previously T800 NDY with Thandi themselves.
(But happy to be corrected if not!)
Used on school services and private hire.

P.S. should have started that with new to Dublin Bus!!

They've got two; RUI 6689 is the former R336 RRA and RUI 2053 ex R337 RRA.
Volvo B10M Citybus with East Lancashire body, new to Nottingham

Ahh, That is good. In the gloom of dawn I made the plate numbers to be 6589 or 6689. So thta was ex Nottingham. Thanks for the info

Have to be honest and say that nothing new interests me,. but the sight of an Olympian in Birmingham city centre was refreshing. Not on nights for another twelve weeks but will keep any eye out.

Thanks again.
