The Thameslink website states:
If you’re travelling on a Thameslink service at the weekend or on a public holiday, you may be able to purchase a Weekend First upgrade. This is available from onboard staff, subject to seating availability.

Please make sure you buy your Weekend First upgrade before sitting in a First Class seat to avoid a Penalty Fare.
(Source: https://www.thameslinkrailway.com/tickets/first-class)

Yet there are no fares on BRFares for this, only a Southern £5 Weekend First upgrade. Travelling from St Pancras to Brighton.

Any clues?

I would surmise that it doesn't exist anymore. Unclear how it could really work on a TOC that doesn't have onboard staff on 90+% of services.

I'd guess this was copied from one of the other GTR brands and someone didn't think before they pushed it onto the Thameslink site too.

In practice, there is no weekend first on Thameslink. There are no staff on board to sell it.

On Thameslink branded trains the rear 1st class compartment is always declassified and can be used by standard class ticket holders.
