Anyone whos spoken to GTR recently on the latest for bedford?

Hopefully we should all get the green light together!

I had my medical today and after seeing Ronke she did indeed confirm the next available course will run in October. I asked her when I could expect a date as I need to arrange childcare and she said that they hope to know that by mid July. I have been selected for kings cross on the GN side even though I originally applied for Blackfriars. So October it is.

Exactly what I was told after my medical. Went in and she stated October will be the start date. However, I do hope that we will receive the contract ASAP.

still haven't heard :/

Really? I heard the day after via email, but I know others had a phone call within an hour or so of the interview. I'm sure you'll hear back soon! I'm waiting for a start date now, have no idea how long that will be though...

4 weeks since I passed my medical and still no word. Anyone else been waiting this long?

It's only been a week since I passed mine so not expecting anything yet, but you might want to chase it up and see if they can give you any information? Rumours are next batch of courses start in October...

I passed medical early May and still waiting for a start date. Although my only choice is Bedford so that might be why it's taking so long

Hoping to relocate to Crawley area as new three bridges depot needing mainline trainees soon according to HR also can commute from there for blackfriars n kings cross but would relocate to any depot brighton be good as well

live down south so not a huge move

Still awaiting email confirmation of medical late july wondering if imagined it!! was a poor connection on the phone I was asked for date of birth and nat insurance sound about right ? Will phone tomorrow if not received confirmation by midday

Does anyone know if the free travel is just for GTR routes or is it for all other routes to.I ts just that if I get offered Kings Cross It is easy for me to get the train into Euston and then tube to Kings Cross but they are not GTR routes so will I have to pay ????

Got through all assessments and interviews. Confirmed through medical on Tuesday. In the talent pool awaiting a course. Pboro or Kings cross. Hearing courses all year so being patient the key I guess. Not easy.

Has anyone else asked for/been given Blackfriars depot?

Yep, I applied for Blackfriars but was told I would be going to Kings Cross, I never really got a reason as to why but I think it's because the thameslink courses had been filled and the next one in October is for GN

I applied for blackfriars. I was told by a women over the phone that courses will start for Thameslink from September onwards. she told me i passed the medical but i just have to wait for a start date.

Does anyone actually know what is going on? Is the Thameslink Route courses being rolled out for sept. or oct. start? Or even 2016

Taken from their website: http://www.thameslinkrailway.com/about-us/building-tomorrows-railway/driver-training

''To ensure our you enjoy the highest levels of punctuality and reliability we’ve embarked on one of the biggest driver recruitment and training programmes in UK rail history – in 2015 alone over 184 new drivers will be recruited, taking part in more than 24 training courses, supported by additional training and driver managers.''

More courses still to comes guys, theirs still people going through stage 1 assessments so Its a huge recruitment drive.

With July / August a period where many people are annual leave it is not surprising that this could be the reason why the next batch of courses are from Sept/Oct due to logistical reasons

We're just going to have to be patient guys, I'm sure the courses will start rolling in soon!

I hope so! Been offered a start date by a different TOC which I pushed back hoping GTR will confirm a date soon!

If not I'll have to jump ship!
