Hi all, new member here!!
I received an email on Friday, received my letter on Saturday and today again received the same email... (I did apply for two different posts, so I'm hoping that I'm not going to receive another assessment appointment, as that will be embarrassing)
My first stage assessment is in Bonhill Street on 9th December..

Been trying to get hold of Recruitment today, but the only number I can find put me through to a call centre in India, who tried to tell me GTR don't have a Recruitment department. Anyone know their phone number?

Managed to phone her today using that number, due to one of my colleagues having the e-mail for assessments. She told me that they are currently dealing with the applications, and to be patient.

Just wondering if I have taken and passed a southern conductor assessment and a virgin train manager assessment both had elements of the train driver assessment would I need to complete all elements of the train driver assessment or can they be carried across?
Got my email the other day and letter today, wasn't expecting the assessment to be so soon! Was hoping they'd let us travel free like FCC did but no mention of travel included. Now to try and calm the nerves and get practicing, don't want a repeat of last time!
Well done on getting through,what day is your assessment?
I am waiting for my letter to come and wondering how much time I might have.

It would appear that those of you that have been successful have already been informed. Guess I'll just wait for my Dear John.

Nope. You'll start from the beginning. They may ask if anyone has done any sort of aessments with any other TOC in the last 2 years - that's the point at which you put your hand up and tell them what you've done and who for.

Tom I got a letter of authorisation to travel yesterday?
Gutted... Didn't make the afternoon session. I did see you Tom but didn't get a chance to introduce myself.
So in feedback was told accuracy on GBT didn't meet gtr standards but did reach national standards.
I can apply again in 6 months or apply immediately to another TOC which accepts the national standard.
Bit hard to swallow being told you reach the level set by the governing body... But you can't progress! I suppose it's their ball, their rules.
On the look out now for another TOC running out of Bedford or Hitchin then!

Firstly mate I'm sorry to hear about today. With a job that in demand anyone can set the rules. Seems silly that u reached national standard but not Govia standards. IMO they could of passed you and let you continue and even if it wasn't their standard let u know cause technically you didn't fail right?
Without asking you to give away the whole test but how was the GBT anyways, was it letters like practice papers and how long did u get per paper? Did u do any other tests or just GBT

I know how you feel (kind of)
Freightliner and FGW accepted my national but C2C didn't for me it was the WAFV which didn't meet their higher criteria unclear ... they couldn't progress me from my successful application as I had taken the assessment within the last six months and as for them it counted as a fail no progression
TPE, C2C and Govia have higher passes then... think Northern too... basically everyone by the looks of it obviously too many passing got to reduce it somehow

It is with regret that I have to inform you that you are not eligible to attend the c2c trainee depot assessment day on Thurs 30th.
Upon checking your recent test scores with the OPC it has been notiied to me that they did not meet our required standard.
OPC feedback - Cant attend as failed WAFV to c2c standard on 01/07/2014
My deepest regret for being the bearer of this news and any disappointment this may cause.

I've read it before and I think it cost me but accuracy seems to be more important than speed. Obviously you need to try to do a good few but I'm not sure that that's as important. Reading that 8 or 9 lines per page will get you a pass... I almost doubled that. I think I could have slowed down a bit.

Hi Chris, sorry to hear you didn't get through. Having been there I know exactly how it feels, I probably did see you as well then but that was that nervous to start with, didn't know what was going on! I passed everything thankfully, so don't let it beat you - apply again as soon as you can. You know what to expect now so should have a better idea on how to go about it next time, I felt much more relaxed about the bourdon this time, I think the 1st time round I went off too quick and missed a few.

Thanks Tom,hope I get through,but if I do it will be hard to get to WFJ for the start of my late shift.Although I have told my mate who is spare tomorrow he might have to work my first train to Euston and I will take it from there.
I was at the OPC watford on monday 8th dec for my first ever assessment with LM (worcester depot). I got through to the MMI and was told i passed all tests including DFFT. My question is when will i find out whether i passed the MMI if so when will i be offered a start date pending a medical. Or is it going to be one big waiting game all again!!??
