Thameslink to new cross NWX

Why have thameslink taken over the Gillingham service but gone via deptford and not new cross and lewisham

This shouldn’t be in the “speculation” area of the forum, it has already happened. As explained in other recent threads they needed to send a couple of services (2 x 2tph) onto suitable Kent routes because of capacity constraints on the line through New Cross Gate. I suspect there wasn’t capacity via Lewisham without cancelling another service.
