Previously I had to go to the intermediate level at STP to get signal, running the risk of being wrongfooted by an un-delayed train.

I’ve noticed no change at City Thameslink - middle of southbound platform still has no service

This could be depending on mobile phone network at this stage. I have managed to get a full signal all the way along the platform on EE at City Thameslink.

There is still no signal on my phone on Smarty network.
