I am an occasional user of Kentish Town station. I can start a journey home from there by either Underground or Thameslink.
Generally I look at the Thameslink display screen in the booking hall to see how long I would need to wait for the next train, and then choose my route accordingly.
On two occasions towards the end of last year I found the screen blank, so traipsed over to the Thameslink platform, only to find out that no train was due and then traipse back to the Underground.
I complained to TfL who first misunderstood, so I clarified by concern. Now they have told me
Is that screen actually the responsibility of National Rail (rather than Network Rail or the Thameslink TOC)? If so, what is the relevant contact for National Rail?
I could of course use my phone and look online, but when you're actually at a station the indicators there should be the most convenient source of information.

The statement that the LU screen is functional does suggest that the Thameslink one is still not."I have contacted the Manager of Kentish Town, they informed that there are two arrival screens in the ticket hall. One for London Underground and one for National Rail. The screen for London Underground is still functional, and so it is advisable to contact National Rail regarding the repair of the display."
