Curious as it didnt make its way into City or futher south. 377208 did however.

Just want to say for anyone whose not on that group that although the 377/2 have had passanger codes they are NOT in service and still being apart of driver training for the moment. This however may change next week.

From the weekly newsletter

On Thursday, we were able to complete a trial run of a Class
377/2 train (on loan from Southern) ahead of the 22 March
timetable change. The 10:41 service ran from Blackfriars to
Luton. Next week we aim to repeat this trial run as a passenger
service which will mark a major milestone as it will be the first
ever Class 377 to pick up customers on the Thameslink north
route. This is also a major achievement for the operations and
engineering teams in the lead up to the timetable change. Well
done to all those involved.

A short session on the Southeastern journey planner reveals that all four services above (headcode 1Z--) should run on Monday. With the exception of 1Z51, the services will call at all stations; 1Z51 runs fast from London St Pancras to St Albans then calls at Luton Airport Parkway and Luton.

A short session on the Southeastern journey planner reveals that all four services above (headcode 1Z--) should run on Monday. With the exception of 1Z51, the services will call at all stations; 1Z51 runs fast from London St Pancras to St Albans then calls at Luton Airport Parkway and Luton.

Now this creates one interesting aspect, is there time for the driver to lock up the train on his own? Because only Blackfriars and Luton have manned platforms and no-ones started training on how to deal with 377. I can foresee problems.

Does look like they've abandoned the originally plan to do media trips then with this. Sad really as the idea was to do a 377/5 to Moorgate after the unit had been named. Could still happen I suppose.

From what I can see the times above are for the dummy runs during driver training. The doors will not be opened at all on these.

Next week (thursday) when it will do it with live passengers on it there will be more managers/training staff and fitters than there will be public.

Well considering that the traines don't know yet when the staff are getting their 377 training Im thinking people from the depot/head office will be with the train when it starts going into passanger service and continue for awhile.

I don't know how effective people from head office will be on the train, they will be about as useful as the proverbial chocolate teapot!

What I do know for fact is there will be DSM's from all depots, fitters and instructors from the training school at Hornsey out and about at various location on hand to assist with any problems.

I meant the trainers who are 'based' at HQ. Maybe some of the SE staff as well out and about this week then?

Read the following on UKmodernEMU earlier (both paragraphs by Roger Smith):

#7635: Understand due to bogie stress fractures Allelys are returning unit 377504 to Derby on Saturday morning by road - 04.00am kickoff at Selhurst.
#7650: 3 vehicles of 377504 are on the M25 now and the last coach a driving end is near Thornton Heath A22, to J9 M25. First 3 should be stopping within next two hours at Luton services M1 J9.

And if something goes wrong on the train and the driver calls for an engineer, I wonder if they'll all start coughing, whistling and looking at the floor!

as for the fitters/engineers, trust me they will work very hard to gte the 377s fixed if they can as if they dont bye bye for the whole timetable.

Don't think its on Platform yet!

Its for a 1-2-1 brief with OTS staff and platform staff. It replaces the more traditional "on the stock" training so its the usual FCC cut back.

Maybe I should have had it already. After all this 'first' train on test from thursday they've mentioned. I dispatched it. Does that mean I was the first to dispatch an Electrostar on the Thameslink route?

Note normally we just let them go as empty stock movements dont need the CD/RA.

Nahh, not really as it was empties on a dummy run. The platform staff at Bedford dispatch them all the time when they depart from Bedford on training/testing runs, they have been doing this for ages.

First one hasn't happened yet, make sure you are on duty on Thursday morning and dispatch that one as that will be the first service/passenger train to run for FCC. Do it right though as I imagine there will be plenty of top brass about!!

if you do it just dont do what they did to me at st pancras high level, give me the ra before the cd:roll:, and the ra does not reset up there for some reason lol.

Dont spoil my fun! Although the difference was that this was the first with the ID number of 1. I actually had to ask the driver what was going on and ask was he in public service. Seems I was a week early.

I actually asked to work lates so I could dispatch at Moorgate on the final day but was given eariles. Considering my shift patterns seems to set I Im on duty when a 377/5 comes through I won't be surprised! so I will be there to dispatch the first passanger service Electrostar

You RA will never reset until a train passes it. If you do that then you can expect to be spoken to. I know I would expect it.

Who's staff dispatches at St Pancras? Has to be Network Rail or EMT as FCC don't have any dispatched working on that side of the core (nearest one is City).

Its sorta a shame they didnt have an 8 car 377/5 ready by last week. They were going to have it on platform one at Blackfriars and name the train (I not sure thats the right name tho). After that the 377's were going off on a press trip. Then on friday it would have formed a service into Moorgate.

Not quite!

The supervisors who are based at Farringdon also cover Moorgate so in an emergency there are several staff at Farringdon who can still dispatch.

The supervisors cover Moorgate on a roster basis. There are no staff on the Thameslink route based at Moorgate as it has always been covered from Farringdon so they are still dispatching trains.

More info courtesy of JKA - 206+207 will be this week's FCC driver training units and will be assigned normal D1C KO0 diagrams next Monday. On Friday, 204+213 will be transferred to SER at Victoria, followed by 201+208 at Redhill on Saturday and 203+209 at Redhill on Sunday so now you know which units will operate from Rochester/Bearsted/Ashford (not necessarily in that order) next Monday morning.

The initial Class 377 KO0 FCC/SER services will be as follows (a few are still yet to be identified):

Curious, 202 is todays training unit doing the Blackfriars - Luton service and back again. I managed to get a few photos as well!

Just some more bits of information Ive managed to pick up today

377504 is expected back on wednesday. I don't however know if this is by road, rail or Selhurst or Bedford. I dont have an date for 501 however. Im guessing if its rail then they might come as a pair.

The paths given out last week are not going to be used. The paths were as follows

Now seems the first Electrostar train in passenger service is coming from Bedford in the early hours. I dont yet have pathing information.

Other news was the brief appearance of a 12 car 375 (including a DV unit) at Blackfriars. See here for pictures.

Ive added some more images of the new entrance on platform 5 which looks like being nearly finished expect the overbridge.

As it stands NR still say they are going to have both Farringdon and Blackfriars ready for monday. Lets hope they are but its a tight deadline.

By rights I should have seen 202 from Blackfriars Bridge while on the 1411 Loughborough Junction - Cricklewood run (was even broadcast on the PIS there with a 'NOT FOR PUBLIC USE' qualifier), but after a very short ride on a preceding 319 I took a few pics at Farringdon instead with new canopies to boot. I caught the very next train to Luton Airport Parkway afterward so I passed it reversing in Cricklewood sidings.

A 12-car 375 formation in London Blackfriars - well I'll be damned! hock: What was it doing there?
