Thameslink platform extension schedule

Can anyone enlighten me or point me in the right direction to find out when the remaining stations between Bedford and West Hampstead are having their platforms extended?

I've found no information about Harpenden, St Albans etc as the FCC and Thameslink programme site only talk about Cricklewood, Luton AP and Farringdon.

There's a rolling programme of platform extensions moving north with Bedford completed around 2012. I'll try and grab the dates but they have been changed abit as the original plan was batches heading north and it now seems they are being done here there and very where.

Actually it's Mill Hill Broadway that's already been extendend and not Cricklewood that I mentioned in my first post.

There are loads of Hippo bags full of earth and rubble at my station, Harpenden, which I assume they'll use for filling in platform extension spaces?

Be interesting to see how they do St. Albans, presumably they will do away with the centre siding at the north end.

I'm surprised to see St Ablans being extended south as there's much more space to the north towards the bridge - you can even see the grassy patches where a platform could go on

at St albans you can not go north due to the centre siding between the slow roads, so you have to go south.
also of note is they have started to extend west hampstead tlk now, only work done so far is to extend the up fast platform northwards.

Why does prevent the platform being extended north? There's a huge gap between the fast and slow lines, regardless of whether there is a centre siding between the slow lines or not.

the problem is the signal on the down slow, it is placed at the end of the platform and controls movements northwards and into the siding, you could not have it mid way along the platform, so the sensible thing to do is go south, but saying that the extended platforms might go north on the fast roads and south on the slow roads.

As for 12 car trains for the Thameslink Programme, the Southern network will not extend the platforms, because they can hold 12 car trains.

Platform 1 - extend 40m North
Platform 2 - extend 30m North
Platform 3 - extend 150m North
Platform 4 - extend 45m North

Platform 1 - extend 8m South
Platform 2 - extend 15m South

I make no comment on how lovely it will look - having seen the abomination of cheap shoddy architecture on the footbridge. (IMHO)

Thanks for the info - in the last couple of days some work appears to have started on the north end of the central platform, which is where I thought it would have to go before that siding was pointed out.

I agree the footbridge is pretty grim.

Anyone noticed the brick building still partly covered with ivy and shrubs at West Hampstead station on the west side? I've wondered what it is - toilet building?
