As we saw last week chaos reigns when for whatever reason the core becomes unavailable for use. This is bad enough when it happens now but when the Thameslink programme is complete and the core is at capacity are there any diversion routes that could be used either for passenger service or ECS to relocate stock?
My knowledge of the network is not that brilliant so this is a question more out of interest than anything. Are there any options using the London Overground route from New Cross Gate via Surrey Quays or Clapham Junction via Kensington Olympia to get Thameslink Services South North South if needed in a real emergency under their own power?
