No, this is another one!
Since the merger between the two TL Controls, some staff have decided that the travelling is too much (4 hours a day, on top of a 12 hour shift), and have opted for early retirement.

I'm sure it's around 44k/45k, that's what the GN kings X control were on around-ish. I know they have a lot of time off but I think they do 7 days on the trot of 12 hour nights. These jobs have been advertised for quite a while, even internal.

The GN control may or will move to Three Bridges, but I think they will go down to 8 hours shifts. There's a couple of guys that live at Ely that are on the GN side, so a long day if they did move.

I know Kings Cross PSB will close in 2018 with York ROC taking control however I believe the general idea is for the GTR staff there to not relocate to York as well but rather to Three Bridges ROC instead so ALL of the control staff for GTR are in one location which probably be a lot simpler and better then having multiple locations for said staff.

Sunday's and rest days are basic rate, and there are no enhancements.
Shift patterns are 4 nights on, 3 days off, 3 days on, Sunday off, 3 nights on, 3 days off, followed by 4 days on and then 7 days off, before going back on to nights again!

It seems like a very ontop, busy career but the pay is a huge let down.

The hours work out the same over a 4 week period as doing 8 hour shifts,
just less days are actually worked.
There are times when you are sitting around doing nothing!
However, you do have a Duty Control Manager in overall charge, who has the final say / responsibility.
