Using newer stock the little reason not to have 12 cars on as many services as possible. Remember the extra 10x 387 will now allow more GN KX services to have DOO.

I didn't think that Great Northern have non-DOO services anyway.

Slightly confused by your post here... we are already fully DOO on GN... how will additional 387s alter the situation from using 365s for 12 cars? There are also 12 car 321 operated services at present? Or are you saying there will be a net increase of 10 units as a result of the 387s, allowing further remaining GN services to be 12 car?

Current stock on GN makes full driver DOO operation impossible. 387/700 change this. IRC 365s don't have SDO either so you can't call a 12 car at a short platform.

Do you mean an end to platform staff dispatching 12 car trains at certain locations? Because of in-cab CCTV, this could come to an end.

GN services are all DOO.

Everything on Great Northern is DOO and has been since British Rail days. We even have 12-car DOO non-stop Kings Cross - Cambridge.

I can't see 12-car 700s being allowed to call at 8-car platforms even with SDO as the dwell times would be horiffic.

GN services are all DOO.

Means they can have camera's and get rid of more staff ....

In cab CCTV does not mean an automatic end to platform staff. The 377/387s is proof of this at places like Bedford, St Albans etc.

GN may have been DOO since then but it's never had stock built with cameras etc. Having 12 cars call at car platforms is useful feature especially in disruption.

I fear however this issue over GN DOO with cameras is taking over the 700 thread.

I'm aware this is slightly off-topic, but are 377/387s now stopping at the platform markers for the 700s on the Thameslink route? I was waiting by the 8-car marker recently and the train instead stopped at the end of the platform by the new marker, which surprised me - admittedly I don't spend much time down south any more so this might have been going on for ages!

What about the rumours from the TLK lot that they want 700's to be self dispatch everywhere?

The total opposite appears to be happening with what I believe to be around 50 agency staff currently being trained up for 700 dispatch on TL (may be more or less than that, that's just the figure that's going around, but it's in that area)...

That's always been the declared intention for the core stations, hasnt it? Not least in order to meet the dwell times.

I'm not read anything saying that was the plan.

Your making me think of the staff they use in Tokyo to cram em into the trains  !.

Thursday 30th/Friday 1st July off peak revenue runs Brighton - core - Bedford
Monday 4th continues all week(m-f)
Monday 11th July 3 diagrams in use
Then two diagrams per week to be converted to 700 (primarily FLU-12 car)

Wondered how long it would be before this came out. Note next week isn't 100% confirmed next week as few bits of testing to complete yet.

Actual diagram does Brighton - Bedford - Three Bridges only.

The initial diagrams are only 700/1.

10:02 Brighton-London Bridge was canx at Gatwick due to problems with traction equipment(?)

It was a down Victoria to Brighton 1Axx service with EP brake problems at Hyaywards Heath that was causing all the problems, nothing to do with signalling problems (well none in TBASCs area or reported elsewhere) and there were no traction supply problems reported either. Went back to depot as 5B18

No. Just one unit. It's a bedding in period with slow/soft introduction. By autumn the 700s will be running around so much there will be little interest other than first days in services.
