First class has always had tables

The article states standard class

The fold down seat back tables can be very easily retrofitted. Normal table in standard is very unlikely given the additional cost and loss of even more seats.

There looks to be not much room between the bay seats for a Normal sized table. Cannot see why they would even consider losing seats for tables anyway.

Maybe the small tables (as 377/3s have got) maybe enough, at least somewhere other than the floor to put your damned cup of coffee ??????

Dwell times might be interesting! Could they get up the 1 in 39 from City Thameslink to Blackfriars, one asks oneself.

Yes they are going to be regeared, brand new transaction package as well.

And they have been tested pushing an unpowered class 700 up the inclines so they will probably do what they were specified to do. Not surprising really is it.

I think the earlier poster was referring to a hypothetical pantograph fitted 442 though...

Yes, I realised that just after posting. I've only just got back to the keyboard.
I do wonder how dramatic it looks when the push is happening though.

Same here, although a good test will be a good fast run under the wires and a good fast run on 3rd rail (I.e. south of croydon)

700102 did 5X70 03+46 Three Bridges Depot to Ferme Park via NLL yesterday morning.

The GN units are now class 717 after initially being 701.

At this rate, the 7xx number range will be exhausted by the middle of the next decade given that all new stock ordered for existing 3rd rail lines will likely be mandated as ready to run ac/DC, i.e. no empty pantograph wheels and concrete transformers but full ac kit like 387s .
