GOod day all, I hope everyone is well.

I have recently spotted, which didnt run today, but also appears every day until Friday on FL and RTT,
1Z26 11:35 THREE BRIDGES - 13:35 BEDFORD running on 01/06/2016
Which forms from 5Z26 from the depot.

Does anyone know if this is likely to run tomorrow or when? And if it will be a 700
Many thanks

Seems strange that two Bedford trains would be leaving at the same time and use the same line for much of the journey. If it does run, how would pathing work out? I'm am assuming that 1W26 (the Brighton-Bedford train) would be cancelled.

Also, there was a broken down train causing delays today, so could that be the reason for 1Z26's cancellation?

In a word, no.

However that does follow my direct suggestion on how to introduce the 700s.

Apologies if this is a silly question but what is the point of putting paths on RTT if there is not intention to run them?

One could guess, how the diagram could look, depot-three bridges-bedford (all day up and down to either brighton or three bridges), then a bedford three bridges and back to the depot.

Because train planning work months ahead and situation is currently flexible meaning it's best to get all paths likely to be needed so they can be activated by NR rather than making p upaths (which can be time consuming to do) on the day.

EDIT: 700104 arrived this morning on 6X66 02+20 Dollands Moor to Three Bridges Depot

There are reports of it moving around but I am unable to find a delivery date to Three Bridges. Can anyone advise please and I apologise if it is in the thread - I missed a huge chunk when I was on holiday and must have missed the report?

Rumour elsewhere that a 700 entered passenger service today from Three Bridges to Bedford, possibly returning to Three Bridges?

Anyone able to confirm it please?

Would it be possible for you to tell us where these rumours are from please?

A query raised on a modern emu yahoo group I think - but passed onto me by indirect methods. So third hand and may be more.

No 700s entered service today - whilst the schedule was in TRUST/RTT/Anything else, it was planned weeks ago, to secure the path and get it validated so that it was there if they were ready to be rolled out.

There are now at least two 700s stabled at Hornsey. Unfortunately I only noticed them today as I was hurtling towards Finsbury Park, and wasn't able to see how long they were or read their numbers.

(There was also a unit stood at Finsbury Park p6/7 on Tuesday morning, presumably waiting for my train to depart before it could continue northwards.)

There were two reported at Hornsey on the 22nd last month, I think the post mentions the unit numbers, 004 and 010 at that time, but they may have changed. Earlier discussions suggest they have been based there for ERTMS testing on the Hertford Loop, but they could also be testing depot facilities when not testing cab signalling.

As of yesterday class 700s were stilled barred from using the down fast line through South Croydon due to gauging issues (track got slewed the wrong way whilst being tamped), so until that is resolved I can't see them entering service yet.

The 700 observed at Finsbury Park, returned from Three Bridges after the blockade at Hornsey Depot over the last bank holiday weekend, the 700 which stood on Platform 7 then continued shortly after 08:30 towards Hertford North/Watton-At-Stone. At present 700004 (RLU) and 700110 (FLU) are currently over on the GN.

Are the trains wider than 442s, 377s, 387s etc...?

Can run on certain workings. Won't affect a soft launch but full squadron launch it will.

700001 passed me getting hauled through Aachen Hauptbahnhof yesterday at approx 1250 so I assume it'll be in the UK soon enough.

We have a prohibited notice on our panel, they won't be using the down fast line at South Croydon until the track is sorted out.

They must be either slightly wider or their kinetic envelope sways them towards the platform edge there.

I thought the blockade there the weekend before last (pre BH weekend) should have enabled this to be sorted or hasn't the testing and paperwork been done afterwards yet?
