For most people, this isn't a safe assumption, so it's quite understandable why someone anxious to know when the first journey will be would ask that.

Whenpeople ask every page of this thread it just becomes annoying. Atleast now they aren't bothering to reply directly to my posts.

I already gave a date I said trains would be running.

Here's another one; 4th February 2017.

And another; 23rd March 2017.

(of course I never said any of these dates would be the first day of public operation!)

2018 for the first unit is probably a realistic estimate.

2016-2018 coming into service is correct for 700 build with deliveries not finishing until May 2018 (unlike a certain few press members getting confused with all in service and KO2 confused).

I'm just being facetious. Seems so close yet is far.

Also, this topic is on page 319 (on Tapatalk at least)...

Hope use on the London Bridge to Tattenham/Horshams isnt far off. Norwood Junction station has taken delivery of disabled ramps for 700s.

I know :D

We are so close. Once they start they will rapidly arrive.

Tattenham is further off but Horsham I think will be next year after the GN starts getting its 700s.

I understood the Brighton-London Bridge and Three Bridges-Bedford services would be first - although I'd assumed due to Inter-linking that would include Bedford-Brighton as well

Still waiting for the sidings at Horsham to be commissioned first, with the signal panel mods taking place in week 20 which is about 12 weeks away now with the sidings being commissioned in week 35 which I'm guessing is the Christmas period.

Rumour from under the juice rail has the sidings being used by service trains starting with the May 2017 timetable change, with the out berthing of cl700 units as soon as they are commissioned to give Three Bridges depot some working space.

4 units at Cricklewood just now.

Bedford - Brighton, London Bridge - Brighton and Bedford - Three Bridges services will see 700s from day one as trains interwork these services.

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 pages of posts... you're gonna see some serious ****.

(I'm on desktop with 50 posts per page)

Don't worry. I'll 'accidentally' delete it before that can happen...

Ravensbourne has had its Class 700 ramps for a while now but I'll eat my hat if the Catford Loop sees any of them before next Christmas.

What type of hat is it...... , heard (not confirmed) Orpington driver start 700 training from August.

Well nobody knows who you are, save for the forum members you've met (if there are any), which is your prerogative and the nature of this field of discussion.

If what you mean to say is that you consider that you will know as soon as there will be a passenger service operated by a 700 and plan on posting as much, then that's fair enough. But people aren't just going to assume that you will know. Of course, you might have meant something entirely different.

Er all but three 700s have already been on the Catford Loop so you'd better get some tasty sauce for that hat! :D

Any ideas for when the Class 700's enter service?

I'm sorry, I'm just trying to get the page count up to 700...
