Hello all,

I see on Wiki that in 2011 the proposed timetable for Thameslink 2018 was published, was this in house at the DfT or was it posted online for the public too?

I know it's a draft but was going to look at it but I can't find it anywhere?

It's not in timetable form, but the train service requirement in terms of route, station and frequency is shown in the TSGN ITT documents here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...-and-great-northern-2013-invitation-to-tender

The bids against this specification are in and are being assessed by the DfT.
Nothing on Wiki is going to be authoritative at the moment.
It all depends what the winning bid includes.
We'll know in May.

I don't think wiki is correct in quoting the existence of a 2011 timetable; but the London and SE RUS of 2011 included a proposed list of Thameslink service frequencies and origin/destination pairs in tabular form, but it's been overtaken by subsequent events - significantly the retention of the Wimbledon loop and the corresponding reduction in through running from the Southeastern side.

That's why I couldn't find it, but thank you for the roue table, that'll will do nicely :)

Was interested to see what routes were linking up to the ECML, I was wondering about frequency too.

I was asking about a timetable mainly to see if the Welwyn/Hertford/Letchworth to Moorgate would still run, or even the KX - Peterborough/Cambridge?

The latest info is as posted by LNW-GW above - that table is only attempting to explain what wiki might have been referring to, but it is no longer valid.

The TSGN ITT doesn't provide the info in public timetable form, because they have invited bidders to work out their own proposed future timetables. The other key thing is that although they have specified the northern origins for services through the core, they have left various options for services south of the core, and they have allowed bidders to decide which particular northern and southern routes get linked. Another reason why you won't find a timetable anywhere yet.

The stakeholder briefing document for the franchise, about page 35 onwards, is probably the best explanation of your points about service patterns intended for the GN, and explains all about the balance of Moorgate, Welwyn, Hertford etc etc...

There's a draft timetable in existence but not on the public domain currently. It was written by Network Rail and is just a draft with a few issues. There's a few juicy bits in there like 12 car Southeastern services into Blackfriars bays and a regular pattern of services into the bays in peak.

However bidders for TSGN are to propose the timetable in their bid in line with the ITT.

Any draft timetables posted now mean jack squat. The only people than can actually propose a timetable are the new franchise holders. which hasn't been decided yet, not publicly anyways.

Not really as its been supplied to bidders as part of the bidding process with them having to explain alternations to it. Reading the report that comes with its clear that the bidders didn't have enough time to radially change things.

Not enough time? The full programme isn't due to begin for 4 years! That's plenty of time for them to completely overhaul it.

Actually if you read the ITT you know the bidders had to give in their timetables for Dec 2018 in on 24th Dec so as I said there wasn't enough time to fully develop timetables however final call is DfT's not the winning bidder.
