Thames Ranger - SWT validity to Winnersh?

I'm planning an itinerary for a Thames Branches Day Ranger, and I've come across something of an anomaly; the NRE rovers and rangers section says that FGW are the only participating TOC, despite this the NRE validity map suggests the ticket is apparently valid to Winnersh (although only to Winnersh Triangle according to the FGW rovers leaflet!), however, both of those stations are only served by SWT!

Does anyone know what the correct validity is?

I have used the Thames Branches ranger to Winnerish Triangle with no issues. I think the National Rail website has only partly been updated and it should say South West Trains are participating TOCs too.

I have used an SWT train with this rover, however I was not ticket checked so could not 100% say for sure. I doubt you will be ticket checked either however I did double check and I seemed to think it was valid at the time so I am sure it is

FGW serve Winnersh with one train in each direction on weekdays. It's timed as a school run for students living south of Winnersh.

Good spot! Even so, the FGW leaflet suggests validity to Triangle only, neither of those trains stop there.

Would assume that the publicity is simply out of date, although I may try to confirm that with SWT themselves.

The ticket is not routed FGW only and is valid on SWT as per NRCoC Condition 10.

I'm of the opinion that 'participating' on NRE refers to the companies that promote whatever product it is that the entry is for. I don't see how it ever could have affected validity.

Do we have an official stance on this? For example, as I've said before the Freedom of Severn and Solent does not include Southern or London Midland on its "participating companies" section, although at the same time, it does not say "not valid on X and Y" either on the website or on the ticket itself.

I could understand why the two TOCs I've mentioned do not promote it, as the validity area is not that big for them, but there is still some nonetheless.

See page 9 of the NRCoC for Condition 10. It says:

"The validity of a ticket may
a)be restricted to; or
b) prohibit
travel in the trains of a particular Train Company or Train Companies. Any such restriction or prohibition will be shown on the ticket"

Some people seem to think it says something like "Any such restriction or prohibition will be hidden away on a website" but that's not the case. Even if it was the case, I do not believe that there is any such restriction detailed on the National Rail website; more an accidental omission (of which there are many).

FGW and Northern are the only TOCs I can think of who actively promote Rover products.

For example, I've never seen East Coast promote Rovers, but there is no doubt they accept them. I don't think some TOCs are particularly keen to promote them as they'd rather promote their own Advance fares.

There seems to be an issue with the Rovers pages of NRE. Last week the only operators listed for the Anglia Plus Day Ranger was Great Northern!
