Hello,

I'm travelling comfort 1 on Thalys later this week.

Can anyone give some idea as to what form of food is likely to be provided? On it from 12 noon to 14:00.

Hello, when I travelled from Brussels to Amsterdam last year, we were provided with a small square ham and cheese roll (pretty much fitting into your hand) and a small cake. There was plenty of hot and cold drinks in flow, though.

Enjoy your journey :)

Yeah don't expect anything too fancy. My breakfast on Thalys Comfort 1 was pretty much inedible recently. Funny how food on French (ok, in this case French/Belgian/Dutch) trains is often pretty terrible.

You want to be on an Austrian train for a proper restaurant car - not much use if you're toddling though the Low Countries I admit!

Now if they were to revert to the Austrian Netherlands we may see an improvement in rail catering.

I think the average Dutch person might find rule by a distant Catholic country not to be worth it just to get better railway food!

Czech diners are also good - though you wont find one of them in Thalys land , - regrettably.

(at least this hasn't degenerated to an "I have a Virgin off peak ticket for 1st - will I get served champagne and caviar ? - reality - a weekend snackbox or a at best a gammon roll...)
