Unless im missing something 601 should be last as if it stays on diagram it will finish in Rhymney tonight so it would do something tomorrow feom there. As it stands if both units stay on their passenger diagrams then revenue earning U.K. pacer operation ends tonight with 143 609 on the 22:38 Bridgend to Cardiff Central. Ironically this unit isn’t allocated for preservation.
I’ve had word that both units are going to Landore this evening, you may want to see what has been set up in Genius (I don’t have access) this means either or both could be detached from their respective diagrams before the end and sent to Canton.Unless im missing something 601 should be last as if it stays on diagram it will finish in Rhymney tonight so it would do something tomorrow feom there.
Maybe it will get swapped then.I’ve had word that both units are going to Landore this evening, you may want to see what has been set up in Genius (I don’t have access) this means either or both could be detached from their respective diagrams before the end and sent to Canton.
It isn’t. It really isn’t. I’d hesitate to use the term preserved with most of them: they’ve just been sold to heritage railways. How many are actually with a preservation group?thats great news that 8 143 pacers will be preserved for at least a few years
Where are they? Diagram 102 is currently 769445!Both still out. Passed through grangetown within 5 minutes of each other.

Correct601 left Penarth for Rhymney at 15:33 which I believe is diagram 102
Thanks - waiting at Pontypridd for it now.609 left Grangetown for Barry at around 15:11.

Possible unit swap at Cardiff Central on 2R15?Diagram 102 is currently 769445
The way I've been reading it, and having just seen it heading to Bridgend, 609 should work the 19:38 then to Aberdare and then the 21:44 to Barry Island (unless it gets removed at Cardiff on either trip). If it stays on, it's the ECS BYI to CantonAs it stands if both units stay on their passenger diagrams then revenue earning U.K. pacer operation ends tonight with 143 609 on the 22:38 Bridgend to Cardiff Central. I'm off to Penarth shortly. Will probably head out later for 609 tooThis is a bit like watching a penalty shootout....
Have we got pundits in the ground to see what actually happens?
I'm confident that 143601 will go to Rhymney. There are plenty of diagrams off Canton that go back to Canton at the end of the day so if they wanted it back, it would have gone on on of those diagrams. This is a bit like watching a penalty shootout....

It would be great if it did, even better if it came out for a last hurrah tomorrow!!I'm confident that 143601 will go to Rhymney. There are plenty of diagrams off Canton that go back to Canton at the end of the day so if they wanted it back, it would have gone on on of those diagrams.
It's unlikely to come back empty and most of the diagrams stay out all day at the moment. Unless it fails, it should be out in service. It would be great if it did, even better if it came out for a last hurrah tomorrow!!
yes can I also say a huge thank you to those who have done such a great job posting the gen.
That was my thinking of it too. Apart from 602 yesterday anything else thats been wanted back has been put on a Canton finish even if was on part of a pair of 150 diagramsI'm confident that 143601 will go to Rhymney. There are plenty of diagrams off Canton that go back to Canton at the end of the day so if they wanted it back, it would have gone on on of those diagrams.
https://m.facebook.com/groups/pacerrailgroup/ I think this is where it was posted on Facebook, although they have a different diagram to the one philipe posted aboveAnyone know the original source? Just curious since this is the third date touted as the last day in the past few weeks, so could see one continuing into Sun/Monday.
Any confirmation on this please? And is today definitely the finale? Not Sunday/Monday...Posted on Facebook
