Am planning to travel from Crewe (depart 1110) to Cardiff tomorrow on TfW, trying out First Class, and the dining car for the first time.
Two questions am hoping experts can advise:
1. What time do they stop serving breakfast? Per the TfW website, catering on this service (starting out from Manchester at 1030) consists of “Breakfast and lunch
Breakfast is served from Manchester, with last orders taken at Abergavenny.”
Will I be able to order breakfast when I get on at Crewe at 1108, or will they have already swapped over to the lunch menu only?
2. Is there any point in me purchasing a First Class ticket, given I understand you are allowed to sit in the dining car and order/buy food even if travelling on a standard class ticket. Advance Ticket prices (with railcard) for tomorrow are looking quite reasonable (£31.95 in Standard, £40.95 in First) but still don’t want to pay the extra £9 if it’s redundant.
Thanks in advance (no pun).
