As well as no MK4's over the weekend it seems the services from West Wales that would not usually continue beyond Cardiff will be extended to and terminate at Newport. So they run direct services Swansea-Newport when it suits them.

It would have completely pointless to run a Caridff-Newport shuttle iun place of the MK4 services however so i can see why they are doing it.

Some maintenance moves this morning,

HD07 tripping over from Crewe ATC to ETD, with HD01 going the other way from Crewe ETD - ATC.

67022 + HD07 have ran to Canton empty on 5Z22 today from Crewe ETD.

67029 + HD04 will run onto Crewe ETD tonight after 1W63, instead of Crewe ATC.

Have the diagrams changed?

I note at the moment that 1W61 is showing as HD06 and this is the train that forms the 18:30 from Manchester (1V62). Meanwhile, 1W59, which forms the 16:30 (1V50) is not allocated (presumably pending the unit that is on 1W11).

As 1V62 is my regular southbound train, it will be nice to have a bit more capacity at the northern end of the journey. However, it is quiet from Shrewsbury.

For tomorrow? 1W59 should be 67022 with HD07.
