My apologies. I thought 017 had issues no? Not sure what was on HD05 then.
It had the fire bottles set off so just had them replaced.

008 planned to go onto HD05 which may have already happened so likely to be that one. If not 025 has gone to ATC to act as standby too.

It’s been changed to one without standard plus. My luck has definitely run out!
Is it running as just a 3?

It might actually be luck that there will be a couple more seats on an all standard unit.

If they switch to a 2-car then luck is waning, if they find a 150 then...

TfW are making big progress with the Marches, but you can't help feeling it could all have been a lot better with just a little more thought.

A colleague of mine was on that too. 16:30 from Piccadilly.
That’s the one. She was standing till after Shrewsbury. Now doesn’t want to come to meetings in Manchester. This sort of thing had real implications for business.

Yesterday afternoon I did the 'Ludlow Leap'....out on 1V46, 14 30 Manchester Piccadilly as far as Ludlow with 67 016 hauling; then over the footbridge for 67 020 propelling 1W61 back to MAN. Both trains ran more or less to time but, on the return journey there were a couple of issues which I and the normal passengers found quite alarming.

Firstly - at two locations between Shrewsbury and Nantwich and at a further location between Nantwich and Crewe the train dipped and lurched violently while travelling at line speed. As a retired driver, that would seem to indicate to me at least to be an insufficiency of ballast or - at worst developing bank slips.

Secondly - after departing from Crewe - every time the driver shut-off power or applied the brakes, the carriage in which I was travelling (immediately in front of the loco) made a sudden backwards and forward lurch accompanied by an extremely loud bang from the coupling which caused the whole carriage to shudder. Normally that would indicate to me that the coupling hadn't been tightened-up sufficiently, but strange that it only happened after leaving Crewe. As we were following a stopper from AIderley Edge to Stockport, it became a rather frequent occurrence.

HD03 now on its way back to Crewe with 67015+022, both locos will come off with 015 taking 022 back to the ETD for repair and 67008 will then go onto HD03 to enter service tomorrow.

4 full diagrams are planned for tomorrow using HD01/02/06/07 with HD03 entering service later on, pencilled in for 1V50 from Crewe to Cardiff although it could swap into the inward working if its ready earlier on. HD04 is also planned to head back to ATC following tyre turning.

Saturday is then the full 4 diagrams using HD02/03/04/07. HD01 is stopped after Friday for an exam over the weekend.
Sunday is planned for HD02 out of Crewe and HD04 out of Canton.
