I see TFW have another Rail Sale with up to half price advance tickets for journeys up to 27th May. The sale ends on Tuesday of next week so you really dont have much time to plan a journey and get a bargain!
I already had a trip planned for May but decided to wait before booking my tickets just incase they had a sale. Im glad I did. The price quoted to me previously for a return from Neath to Manchester was £104 (2 x advance singles, not a huge amount cheaper than the off peak return) today it was £59 for the exact same journey.
Oddly though, the tickets were available to book at the sale price online on Wednesday when the sale was announced. But after going to the station booking office they still quoted me £104 and said no sale tickets were on their system. I telephoned TFW customer service who said they had no idea why, as far as they were concerned the ticket office system should mirror the online system. Well after going back to the station today in Neath im pleased to say the sale price advances were indeed on the system.
I would have just booked them online on Wednesday, but I went to the station as I had rail vouchers to use towards it, which you cant use online. Overall I had a really good bargain today with the half price sale and vouchers towards it also.
