Hi guys does anyone know the highest point and tunnels on this route? Also do they use 158's and the highest speed?

How far are you asking? For the 16 or so miles between Aberystwyth and Dovey Junction, doubt that this particular section of line gets to any higher than 150 feet above sea level, if that. And there's no tunnels either.

Talerddig summit is "just over 700ft asl" - I can't find the exact height from my armchair; the other summit is at Westbury but much lower.

There are several short tunnels on the Coast Line before Aberdyfi, and another just before Barmouth (plus the rock shelter at Friog).

Translated into MPH, that's 80, 60 and 55 respectively. Presumably the speeds are officially quoted in Km/h to be compatible with the ETCS equipment.

I assume those were the pre-ERTMS limits in mph and just converted to the nearest 5km/h interval.

Yes, the equipment works in km/h, so speed restrictions appear to convert just after the Cambrian splits off after Shrewsbury, a short distance past the junction.

Looking at the old Ian Allan Gradient Profiles book, it appears to be Blackwell Summit (564’) just south of Barnt Green. There are several tunnels between New Street and University, Pershore Road north of Kings Norton and Wickwar north of Yate.

Talerddig summit is "just over 700ft asl" - I can't find the exact height from my armchair;

Is it definitely quite that high? Can see an Ordnance Survey benchmark symbol on an old 1900 era map of the area, near to where the railway line comes through Talerddig, which apparently records a spot height of 674.2 feet (above sea level). Modern day maps also seem to suggest that the railway line maybe only crosses the 210 metres contour line in the area. (= ~688 feet).

The line crosses the 210mtr contour line at SH 9292 0021 and seems to continue at near the same height for some way to the east.
