TfW 158s to Northern?

I believe some are been used so some 195s can have updates some are for strengthening from what I was told

Any idea if the TfW 158s are being used as extra stock or to replace existing trains?

A lot will depend upon whether Northern ends up returning the 8 x Class 769 to Porterbrook if the current work in progress at Brodies does not bring about a significant increase in reliability. The sets are in the last chance saloon. If they go then 16 x 158s would be the only avaiiable substitute pending the delivery of new units in 2029/30.
