Hello everyone, I could say I really sad and regret. So I got a train from Bath to West Drayton from 1st April 2024, but the ticket was bought from my friend bc I don’t have enough money to buy then I asked her bought it for me. But she forgot to remove her railcard and I didn’t noticed also about it. Tfl inspectors caught me when the train near West Drayton. They have send me a verification letter. I did sent my information and explain my case also truly apologies about my fault, it was over a week then I haven’t received any response from IAP tfl who issued my case. Is there anyone had experience about this just let me know. I am so appreciate if someone can give some advice now because I deeply anxious about it. Thank you guys!

Unfortunately you were caught on the TfL leg of the journey, not the GWR leg. TfL usually prosecute where a traveller is found without a valid ticket, whereas an out of court settlement is much more likely with GWR.

Having said that, you have explained your situation, and if the explanation is considered genuine then you may be offered a settlement. All you can do now is wait until you hear back from them. One quick question - can you evidence that the ticket was purchased on your friend's account rather than one belonging to you, to support your story?
