How do you check the vetting
Through the cyclops portal from the email You first get when you submit your vetting you can check your status on there
Typically it will be set out in a format of bullet points explaining a scenario who’s involved in, what’s going on etc and he would have to explain how he would handle it , tell him it’s safety first and formost with everything that’s crucial and also physical envolvment is very last case scenario he needs to speak heavy on safety , first aid and calming down a situation while taking the commuters into consideration

Nice bro , medical was nice and easy didn’t last long at all which is good , tell me about it from applying until now has been 16 months will be worth it when we pass and get it just gruelling doing the waiting game
This is the email I received today so everyone can understand the process :
I can confirm that you have cleared your Reed DBS/ reference checks and your medical, but you have not yet cleared your vetting with the Met Police. as this is with the met police it is really hard to know how long it takes, but I would give an approx. time scale of 4-6 months (it can be sooner but also can sometimes be longer) from when your application was submitted.

That’s exactly what I got word to word basically hopefully it flies by and the 6th month mark for me is may and we are nearing so should be soon

Just got my email saying iv cleared and passed my vetting now just waiting on a start date , finally !

I submitted vetting 1st october 2025 and still waiting on it to clear lol, got an email in feb saying they’ve started and they emailed with a couple questions to clear up. since then it’s been in progress on the portal, been about 7 months now… how long was your wait?

Hi bob, how long was your wait, i submitted vetting 1 oct 2025 so we were probably in the same batch, they contacted me too around feb with couple questions and heard nothing since, still in progress on the portal. when did you recieve your confirmation on clearance or start date?

Hello mate , as they say it’s all different for each person for the time frame they do give with all factors included , but I got my start date for training on Monday vetting for me was around 4 weeks my date will be confirmed in about 4/5 weeks as I was told training groups only have about 12 people in

They said they need documents for onboarding and then will let me know the date which might be 22nd june .
What documents mate did they say? Iv had to re do my dbs as it expired. Oh damn we could be in the same group that would be good! Haven’t seen Bob message since maybe he might be in that group too , but well done tho mate congratulations

Yeah same here sent off my dbs , emailed the recruitment don’t have my statement for April yet so they said that’s fine send it over when I get it , yeah the dbs is being processed now

I’m only doing it where mine expired just filled out the stuff in the email took a few minutes but do it fast bro makes the process much faster

Was the email from reed or you just sent documents to the HR by Email?
Was sent a email from TfL recruitment and then reed themelves sent me a email with the link I can send screenshots in here if you want bro ?

Your dbs and screening might still be in date I’ll show you what tfl sent me if you didn’t get this email your dbs may still be in date
