No news on my end mate Ive book my assessment for the end of November, what about you did TFL send you a contract ? or you have to wait till all the checks are done ?

Hey Min,
Yeah I did mine at Stratford about a month ago. It was pretty straightforward – just go in, give your name to the people at reception and they’ll ask you to wait until someone comes to get you. Everyone there was really nice and professional.
I passed my assessment and they’ve already submitted my onboarding and vetting stuff, so I’m just waiting for the clearance now. Not sure if you’re going for your interview or assessment, but it’s all a smooth process. Good luck !

i believe hey show a video scenario and we need to tell them what we would do in the situation? and an interview - is it comp based interview?

Good luck mate! Mine is on the 24th, even tho there’s quite a bit of info in the forum I’m still bit nervous, and apparently the whole process could take 12 months with the checks …

Yeah mate, I did mine about a month ago and I’m still waiting too. Got my conditional offer and all the onboarding done, just waiting for clearance now — it’s taking ages tbh, bit frustrating . Good luck with yours on the 24th!

Hi everyone, I am writing to seek clarification on the salary structure for the Operations Officer role for Tfl. On job description says: "Salary: £36,806 rising to £41,073 after 1 year (including a non-consolidated shift allowance of up to 15%)". What does it mean?

Hey Cris,
It basically means the base salary starts at £36,806 and after your first year it goes up to £41,073. The “non-consolidated shift allowance up to 15%” is an extra payment you get for working shifts, but it’s not added permanently to your base salary — it’s just paid on top depending on the shifts you work.
So your actual take-home will be higher than the base salary once the shift allowance is added.

I’m sure by the time you get the job the starting salary would be more as inflation is going up I reckon it would be at least 38k starting salary as TFL is pretty good on keeping up with inflation
The 2023 salary for an 'on appointment' CPOS Operations Officer was £32006 leading to £35716 after 1 year. (£32006 +15% = £36806).
The 2024 salary is £34006 leading to £37716 after 1 year. (£34006 +15% = £39106).
As it's another part of the business, I don't know the pay award for CPOS from April 2025, but for LUL it was 3.4% so that may give an indication. (Edit: it seems a 2 year deal was offered - 3.4% for year 1, and RPI for year 2. No idea if it was accepted.)
Note: I have no knowledge around the 15% added to the salary in the original advert or how likely it is to be paid regularly.

Has anyone been to the assessment center recently? I have mine coming up soon and was wondering how the day was structured?
i hear there is a video being shown - what type of video would this be and what are we suppose to do in this part? do we need to write the answers on papaer or we need to tell them what we think?
in regards to the interview questions, what are they asking and how many questions will it be?
Any tips or advise? what i should talk about or main points i should concentrate on?

Hello...I was just offered the role last week..I filled in all the vetting details and now waiting for vetting clearence.My question is when will they send the Reed checks and Health Assessment? A d what are Reed Checks lime?

Congrats on the offer.
Just to share my experience — after I submitted all my vetting details, it took around 4 weeks before they sent me the Reed checks. I’ve completed all of those now.
I’m currently still waiting for the vetting clearance, and it’s been about 2 months since submission. The vetting is the Metropolitan Police NPPV2, and from what I’ve heard, this type can take quite a long time. Some people said it may take up to 6 months before it even starts being processed, and once it finally begins, it usually moves much quicker.
So if anything feels slow, don’t stress — it’s normal at this stage. You’re not the only one waiting… we’re all in the same boat
II just went for the assessment center yesterday and received an email today that i was unsuccessful - I'm not sure what i missed out as i made sure everything they wanted was mentioned.

Hi Mins,
Don’t stress too much — it happens. When I went for my assessment, my friend was with me the same day and he also got an unsuccessful result.
But honestly, getting to this stage already is something not everyone manages, so give yourself credit for that. And the STAR method is everything — every answer really needs to follow it.
If you go again, you’ll be much stronger. You’ve got this.

yeh i understand, i did follow the star format as they asked me to explain what it was. i was given the interview first and then the scenario (where i had to read it from the document and then they asked me questions about what i would do)
i applied for this role back in June 2024 and forgot about it until October 2025 when they invited me for the assessment.
