Hi everyone. I know most of you have gone through the process a while ago now and might not remember the process itself. I have the interview on the 9th of October and was hoping someone here could help me with the interview questions. Like what kind of questions to expect and if there’s anything I should focus on.

Many thanks

Hey everyone, I just had an interview on the 24th and I’m wondering how long it usually takes to hear back. For those of you who’ve been through this process, how long did it take for you to get a response?”

Hello everyone has anyone received this email by TFL back in August 2025 ??…

Thank for your application and your patience while we have worked through this campaign.

Unfortunately, there is no further update and we have still temporarily paused further candidate invites to all assessments.

This campaign is to recruit to a waitlist for permanent opportunities as they arise and is running to a very specific delivery timescale as determined by the business.

We’ll be back in touch with you as soon as we have assessment slots available, please rest assured that you will remain on our waiting list for Assessment Centre bookings.

If your circumstances should change at any time, and you no longer wish to join us as an Operations Officer, we’d like to ask you to contact our High Volume Recruitment team and advise of them of this, they can be reached via email at HighVolumeRecruitment@tfl.gov.uk or preferably via the Recruitment Hotline on 0203 005 1680.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please do reach out via the above email address.

May we thank you again for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you to TfL in the future.

Yes my assessment (interview) was in last Wednesday

Hi all,

I just wanted to ask if anyone else had a similar experience.

Me and my friend both did the Operations Officer assessment on the 24th of September at the same time. He received his outcome email on the 30th of September (unfortunately he wasn’t successful), but I still haven’t heard anything back yet.

Is it normal for them to respond at different times even if we had the same interview slot? Should I expect mine soon, or does it usually take longer for some candidates?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Just wanted to give an update and also ask a question.

I had my Operations Officer interview on 24th September, and I received the outcome on the 2nd of October confirming that I had passed. I’m really happy and grateful for that.

I submitted all the requested documents straight away after receiving the email. Does anyone know roughly how long it usually takes after sending the documents before hearing back with the next steps?

Thanks in advance.

Congratulations mate! What was the assessment about ? Did you have to write reports ? Or was it more like tell me a time when you work with a rude customer or something like that ?(

Thanks mate! Yeah,

My advice would be to prepare a few examples from your past work – things like dealing with safety, customers, or incidents – and practice structuring them with STAR. That really helps.

Thanks mate! Yeah, the assessment was mainly three questions. It’s not about writing reports, but more about safety awareness / results/focus and giving examples from your own experience.

Thank you mate, I’ve booked mine for November, do you apply for days ? If it’s so do you know what’s the shift pattern? And how many hours a week you will be working ??

Hi, I have just been accepted as TFL Operations Officer. Just trying to find out more about the job, where you can be based and where training takes place.

Well done. The vetting takes ages. Im 1.5 years in and still waiting on a start date.
Thanks, mate. Just to clarify — when you say you’ve been waiting 1.5 years, is that since you submitted your vetting forms, or since you passed the interview? Also, have you tried contacting recruitment or the vetting team during that time? I’ve just submitted my vetting recently, so just trying to get an idea of what to expect.

You ll be good I have feelings about it
Did you applied for days or nights ? Also do you know what’s the currently salary as I heard they were strikes of operation officers last year for a pay rise ??

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

I was going to wait till it hits 2years then decide what I'm going to do.
Did you find the interview difficult?? Is it interview/assessment or you do the assessment first then if you pass you do an interview ?

The interview is basic just 3 questions, I cant remember them but if you go back a few pages someone will have shared them. I done a role play which was watching a video once it was finished i had to say what I would do differently and why. The whole interview / role play was around 45mins.
