They really need to clear it up tomoz, looking at the operations officer role there salary’s are all different shift allowance sometimes says included or you will get, just seems very all over the place with no clear structure, glad to have this forum or I would be going out of my mind

Im currently being vetted for nppv2 vetting for tfl operations officer. How long does vetting clearance take?

It can vary depending on how much work they have on. Part of it is a DBS check and those can take anything from a couple of days to several months. Don't think I would worry, but if you do want reassurance give your recruiter a shout.

Thank you for your email and the query regarding the Operations Officer salary.

Please note the contract sets out the terms and conditions of your employment and your salary is at a commencing rate of £32,006 per annum.

Contracts do not stipulate the specific overtime rates and allowances as these are applied in accordance with the implementation notices and as appropriate based upon the working pattern - at this time for the night working pattern this is up to 25%.

If you include a non-consolidated shift allowance of 25% to the contractual salary, the final figure is £40,007.

I submitted in July and received clearance this morning. I had a phone call from a vetting officer on Sunday to say they had started processing my vetting form and wanted to clarify something, then passed vetting today. So it seems that the vetting itself is quite quick, the met just take ages to actually start processing after you submit the form.

Hi guys I thought I was the only one who didn't own much in the way of smart gear.. I'm the same trousers, shirt shoes/ boots it going to be freezing without a doubt, I'm even going for a bag of some kind satchel bag or something- I don't own one yet, pens etc you just don't know, as it's going to be class room stuff I'm sure it's going to be an over spill of info.

Hi there, it's quite intense with loads to take on board. There is a great team of us, even in this short time we have all gelled.. I can't comment to much as it's early days but I looking forward to doing more hands on stuff.

Focus on how your skills and experience align with the role itself and you will be fine, but as you can see from the forum expect to wait at least a year before you actually start, the vetting process takes ages

The best thing to do is come up with examples from your previous job roles that align with the competencies for the role

Hey everyone, just got an email from met police to say my vetting application has been returned and they need some further information. I’ve got two weeks to return it back. Has this happened to anyone and does this mean I have to wait another 6 months or they will process it fairly quick if anyone did have to resubmit theirs?

Same thing happend with my vetting. Sent through the information and the vetting was completed the same day
