Mrs T got a new debit card, it is validated when you first use it with a PIN and the accompanying letter says this immediately invalidates the old card. Touched in with old card, into London, travelled around a bit, went to bank ATM, used new card with PIN. Now then, which card to use to go home?
I said still use old card to put it all within daily cap, and conscious that TfL only process a day's transactions overnight. But then the card was invalid. Even if new card had been used, the inward journey etc would still be rejected by the bank overnight as invalid.
