The Evening Standard has a story today which states that TfL bus fare prosecutions may be invalid due to incorrect online advice within their Frequently Asked Questions.

The basis of the problem is that the advice apparently stated that all bus fare offences are strict liability but this is not actually the case. The online advice was withdrawn at the end of June.

Forgive me if this is old news. I've just seen the Evening Standard article online

Time to decriminalise all this nonsense for low level offences. What a mess.
