The trial has now been posponed indefinitely as the vehicle cant be repaired within a reasonable delay to the trials planned operation. GOCO has said they will look to wait for the vehicle to be repaired while attempting to source another vehicle for the trial in the meantime before rescheduling the trial.

It's a shame that it has had to be postponed, but really - is there not a single small DMU available to operate the service temporarily?

A spare 121 somewhere on a heritage line somewhere perhaps?

Even a Pacer...

The MHR has a 122, but I have heard of no plans to use it. I don't know why, but it's possibly because it would require a guard rostered (and paid) whereas the PPM is DOO.

Good god man are you serious? You can't give the good (tory voting, middle England, Daily Panic readers) people of Mid Hampshire a pacer!

Though on the other hand some of them might rip up their season tickets in disgust allowing me to travel to and from London in comfort without paying for first class. Hmmm. ;)
